21st April 08 - A drive round the countryside and a visit to Babworth Church

The window fitter was here again today and as it was such a nice day Mum, Dad and I decided to go for a drive and take the cameras. After a trip round north Nottinghamshire we ended up at Babworth Church near Retford. When Dad used to be a teacher he had taken school trips there and knew there was a replica of the Mayflower boat there and that it's a great place to take some photos. Unfortunately when we got there the church was closed but we still managed a few shots of the outside.

On the way back to the house we stopped at The Turbine, the business centre where Community Friend is based for lunch. It's a great place and has a lovely cafe/restaurant. I had an pasta dish with asparagus and red peppers while Mum and Dad had chicken and vegetable soup. It was all fantastic.

Mum is still improving, getting better everyday. I'm having some discomfort with my ankle again, it seems to go in peaks and troughs, but the painkillers are helping. Dad cooked us all a great beef stew, roast potatoes, dumplings and sprouting broccoli. It tasted wonderful - I think he's taking to this "carer" role like a duck to water :)
