I'm back!

As you can see from the post below I have managed to break my ankle :(

I went over to North Yorkshire last weekend to see Mum and Dad who were staying in a cottage there for the week. I was intending to stay the weekend then drive back home on the Monday for work. However, on the Sunday we went for a walk near Ribblehead Viaduct and I managed to slip on some wet grass and break my ankle.

Dad and Chris took me under the arms and we slowly and carefully made our way to the car. We were about 20 miles from the nearest hospital (Kendal) so off we went in the car. It was the worst, most painful and distressing 40 minutes of my life. I was in so much pain. When we got there I was X-ray'd and found out I'd got a nasty break. I was put in a cast and told to go to Lancaster Hospital the following day to see a specialist as my break was quite bad and may need an operation to put a plate and pins in to aid recovery.

The following day we drove to Lancaster Royal Infirmary and after another painful examination and more X-rays I was relieved that I didn't need an operation. I was referred to another consultant nearer home the following week and sent back to the cottage.

There I stayed for the week with Mum and Dad. It was a lovely cottage and despite my injury we did manage to get out and about quite a bit and take photos. You can see them on my Flickr profile - click here then click on the sets button to find the set for the week in North Yorkshire.

I'm intending to carry on with the blog now that I'm home. I'll also have quite a lot of time on my hands as I'm signed off work for the next two months!

I hope you're all well:)
